Современное российское кино иногда умеет удивлять так, что ты сидишь и думаешь – что это вообще было? И в этом есть особое удовольствие, потому что такие фильмы не забываются. Они странные, смелые и часто немного хаотичные. Но именно это помогает лучше понять культуру и мышление людей.
Сегодня поговорим о трёх фильмах, которые можно назвать по-настоящему “крышесносными” (от выражения “сносить-снести крышу” = сойти с ума).
Modern Russian cinema sometimes surprises you so much that you sit there thinking – “what was that?”. And there is a special kind of pleasure in this, because these films stay in your memory. They are strange, bold, and often a bit chaotic. But that is exactly what helps you better understand the culture and the way people think. Today we will talk about three films that can truly be called mind-blowing (крышесносный in Russian, from “сносить-снести крышу”, “blow the roof away”, meaning to become crazy).
Мистер никто против Путина (2025) – выглядит как смесь личного дневника и политического манифеста. Иногда кажется, что ты подглядываешь за реальной жизнью. Фильм не объясняет всё прямо, но в этом и есть его сила – он заставляет зрителя самому искать смысл. В нём много живых моментов, что создаёт ощущение честности. Человек, который изучает русский язык, может услышать современную речь и интонации, а также можно почувствовать атмосферу российского общества в 2025 году. Этот фильм показывает, как личная история может пересекаться с политикой.
The film Mr. Nobody Against Putin (2025) feels like a mix of a personal diary and a political statement. At times, it seems like you are watching real life from the inside. The film does not explain everything directly, but that is also its strength – it makes the viewer search for meaning on their own. There are many raw and imperfect moments in it, which create a sense of honesty. A person who is learning Russian can hear modern speech and natural intonation, as well as get a better sense of social atmosphere in 2025 Russia. This film shows how a personal story can intersect with politics.
Фильм Русский ковчег (2002) – это уникальный проект в истории кино. Он снят одним длинным кадром без монтажа. Действие происходит в Эрмитаже в Санкт-Петербурге, зритель словно путешествует по разным эпохам России. Картина соединяет прошлое и настоящее, в нём много культурных и исторических отсылок. Это делает его сложным, но очень красивым. Камера движется плавно и создаёт эффект присутствия. В нём изучающий русский зритель может услышать разные стили речи, а также познакомиться с историей и культурой России.
Russian Ark (2002) is a totally unique cinema experience. You are not just watching the film – you are moving through it. It is filmed in one continuous shot, without cuts, creating the feeling that time flows differently. The action takes place in the Hermitage Museum in Saint Petersburg and the space itself becomes important. You move from one historical period to another almost without noticing. The film is very calm, yet full of detail. It requires attention, but gives you a lot of beauty in return. You can hear different styles of speech – from modern to more historical, as well as better understand Russian cultural context.
Петровы в гриппе (2021) – это уже настоящий хаос, но очень художественный. С самого начала ты понимаешь, что здесь не будет обычной логики. Реальность и фантазия постоянно смешиваются, сцены выглядят странно или даже абсурдно, но постепенно ты начинаешь чувствовать ритм фильма. Он передаёт состояние человека, который устал и немного потерян. В фильме много эмоций, иногда очень резких, что делает его живым и настоящим. Если вы изучаете русский, вам полезно будет услышать разговорную речь, сленг и естественные диалоги.
Petrov’s Flu (2021) is pure chaos, but in a very artistic way. From the beginning, you understand that there will be no usual logic. Reality and fantasy constantly mix together, sometimes the scenes feel strange or even absurd. But gradually, you start to feel the rhythm of the film, it captures the state of a person who is tired and slightly lost. There are many emotions in the film, sometimes very intense. This makes it feel alive and real. If you are learning Russian, you’ll be able to hear everyday speech, slang, and natural dialogue.
Эти фильмы сложно сравнивать между собой, но у них есть что-то общее – они не пытаются быть удобными. И, возможно, именно поэтому они так запоминаются. Если вы изучаете русский язык, такие фильмы могут стать неожиданным, но полезным опытом. Главное – не пытаться понять всё сразу, а просто смотреть и чувствовать.
These films are very different and hard to compare, but they share something important – they do not try to be comfortable. And maybe that is exactly why they are so memorable. If you are learning Russian, these films can be an unexpected but useful experience. The main thing is not to try to understand everything at once, but simply to watch and feel.
